August came.
It will be an annual ritual that we leos vs virgos will argue. Like who's better, who's not, who's crazier, who's smarter, who's prouder, who's freakier - the list just goes on until of course, a virgo steps in and be the better person, making way for the leo to win (cause they just can't not win hahaha).
As much as they have their own "characters", I love them all to bits. We celebrated their birthday at Coliseum, PJ (newly opened) over some carnivorous meals over buka puasa.
Happy bday, Kak Eca (my sister from another momma), Yaya (my little sister) and Big Momma! May Allah bless each and everyone of you with good health, wealth and happiness in life and thereafter. Amin <3

My Lil Missy Turns Two :)
Since we had a big do for her 1st birthday, we thought about down scaling this time and have one with her school friends at the nursery. It was indeed much easier planning for this party instead as I was only asked to prepare a birthday cake and party packs (extra decors, if I wanted to). And because she was so into "wheels on the bus" of late (then), I ordered a moist chocolate cake in a shape of a bus from none other than Aunty Abrina.
I initially thought of having a 3D cake but thought about it again and decided to just go with this one. Not as pretty as I was hoping for but surely did taste awesome.
My husband came to my office around 3 and by 3ish, we were already at the nursery helping out with whatever that we can. Lil missy was in the play room, oblivious of what was going to happen next. When she came out, she was taken by surprise and burst into tears! Aww, she was surprised! ;)
All the other children followed suit and sat on the mini tables and chairs and sang the Happy Birthday song led by the teachers. Khaisah just kept on weeping (so sentimental this one hehe) and mellowed down when it was time to blow the candles and cut the cake.
She then handed out party packs to her friends, battling between shyness and happiness at the same time, hence why the finger was in the mouth as evidenced in top right photo.

One with mummy and daddy :)
Happy 2nd birthday, Khaisah. Semoga Allah panjangkan umur, sihat selalu, murah rezeki and menjadi anak yang baik, berguna and soleheh. All my love is for you my lil best friend, always and forever <3

Happy Birthday, Hashbund.
It was a solat jemaah and tazkirah birthday for my husband and eldest and closest aunty who share the same birth date. Hence why I was in hijab (from Smashing Scarves) :) Tazkirah was given by Imam Shariff from Mecca, a witty, modern imam I must say. His topic was on the importance of solat and ikhlas in performing it (if I remember them correctly). No nonsense perli-perli like zaman sekarang's ustazs. Always a pleasure to meet him (he's a family friend, in case if you're wondering).
His birthday celebration was followed by a day off of work and a little tea time treat at Dip n Dip at Bangsar. It was our first time (still think Max Brenner wins hands down) and who else but none other than lil missy who was licking her chocolate coated fingers hehe.
Happy birthday B. May Allah bless you with all great things in life in dunia and thereafter, insya Allah <3
Love always,
Yours truly.

Gastronomic Birthday Trip.
When you hear the word "gastronomic", what's the first thing that comes to your mind?
As for me, that word is synonymous with "Penang".
We decided to take the ferry to Penang Island - to give Khaisah her first exposure to ferry rides. But the "kid" in us yang lebih excited please hahaha. No lah.. we were excited to see how she reacted to ferry rides actually.
Our gastronomic trip begin as soon as we arrived. First stop was at Nasi Kandar Beratur for lunch and after a mighty high colestrol meal, we headed to the apartment to rest for a bit. Then all other meals kept coming in. You name it, we went to Gurney Drive and ate almost everything hahaha. Went to Chow Rasta for cendol and bought jeruk etc for our families back home. We even stopped by Straits Quay.

Yeap, that was my birthday pressie from my husband. He treated me not only over ONE meal but SO MANY meals that I really liked, particularly Gurney Drive's asam laksa, chinese apom, Kapitan's super delish garlic cheese naan (super delish is such an understatement!) etc. No need fine dining to make me happy lah lol.
The initial plan was just us three to stay over at Hard Rock Hotel. We had made a reservation much earlier only to find that that plan had to be cancelled due to some financial constraints at that point of time. I was quite down about cancelling the trip. Little did we know luck and rezeki were just around the corner. When telling my best friend, Nunu and her hubby, Arshad that the trip was a fall out, she abruptly offered a road trip and stay over at her sister in law's apartment at Feringghi. We thought, why not kan? Free accomodation for 3 days 2 nights. Rezeki datang jangan ignore hehe. We invited Mel and Haikal as well (there were 3 rooms in the apartment) and left on 28th September.

What was truly different about this trip was that out of the countless times I've been to Penang, I have never stepped foot at Bukit Bendera, well not that I can remember of. Thankfully I've got a bunch of sporting people who have the same interest so we went up the Hill. I must say that it was a worthwhile experience. The State Government did a good job in ensuring that the place was tourist-worthy cause I truly felt like I was a tourist and I must applaud the authorities for placing importance on cleanliness. For a public place in Malaysia, it was squeaky clean! Well done!
There are things that you can do at the peak. You can dine, visit the Owl Museum (don't be deceived though, there wasn't any owl around but merely pictures of them with facts explaining about owls), can visit the temple (no thanks, apparently banyak snakes kbye) or simply enjoy the scenic view of Penang from top. For RM7 per entry, quite puas lah us.
Another thing that I discovered and liked about Penang is that it tries its best to maintain the eco-friendly system. You may find that they don't use plastics most of the time and they use recycled materials for paper plates etc. Selangor State Government should implement this asap.
The last day took us to the beach and pool for a lil swim, well more like the men and Khaisah went swimming and the lazy ladies in us just took the betterment of us. Hahaha.
Special thanks to Nunu and Acad for the hospitality and most importantly, to Hubs for this awesome birthday trip. More birthday trips to come, insya Allah? Perhaps Eurotrip next time? Hahaha. Love you long time.

A Year Older, A Year Wiser.
Of course my husband did something for me for my 27th birthday. He did something that I haven't had for the longest time.
It was held at Las Carretas, Damansara because I have been wanting to eat there for my birthday. So he took me there, not knowing that he had planned a so-called "surprise" birthday dinner for me with my girlfriends (and partners).
So-called surprise because apparently they do not have basement parking that was nearby the resto. And I saw everyone's car parked outside the restaurant and my husband went like "oh dammit" haha! It was nevertheless very sweet of him to have organized such a birthday dinner. We haven't celebrated with my friends for at least the past 2 years.
Thanks sayang. I really had a great time and I truly appreciate your effort. Love always x
Ps: What was his birthday gift for me? Well you gotta stay tune :)

Mom Knows Best.
As much as you want to argue with everything that she says (especially in your teenagehood) and as much as you "pretend" that you're big enough to be able stand on your own two feet (and the list goes on), you truly can't deny the fact that moms know best. They understand you in the best possible way.
Like this.
This was what my mom gave me for my 27th birthday. Macam she tau je my stock dah nak habis. I was already thinking in my head that I don't think I will buy a new one anytime soon. Read: so expensive!
Thank you mama. You really know how to cheer me up. I love you endlessly <3

Hubby's 26th on 26th.
On 26th February was Hashley's 26th birthday. This time around we celebrated at Carnaval Churasscaria at Damansara Jaya with both sides of the family - along with two little darling nephew and niece of ours. We decided to try out the Brazilian buffet which I pretty much heard that it was all meaty and nothing else and it was perfect for Hashley's taste cause he's one helluva meat eater! They serve lamb, ginger beef, rolled beef, beef this, beef that and so much more! The buffet was about RM50 ish per person and I reckon you should really go with a hungry tummy. Not only that they serve meat dishes, their buffet selection included Malay dishes (lauk-lauk), Chinese Fried Rice, Mango salad and salads itself.
I didn't take pictures as to how the food was served cause I practically was busy eating and entertaining Zabran and Zara. To sum up, basically you just have to sit and wait for the waiters to serve you the dishes available for the night. For example, the first waiter will come and ask if you'd like to have the lamb and you'll say yes. They cut a slice for you and put it on your plate. Then the next waiter comes but this time, he'll be serving the ginger beef and again, your take to consume that or otherwise. It's entirely your choice whether to eat them all or eat a portion/selection of the meat but for a first timer like me, I suggest you should give everything a shot cause you'll never know how good or bad a meal is till you try it out yourself, yes?
My take would be the ginger beef, lamb, sausages, garlic bread, salad and chinese fried rice. For small eater like my mom, she finds the place serves good food but too much for her liking. But for my husband, it's the total opposite. He loved it! He ate them all, maybe double dose of everything! I'm glad that he liked it cause it was for him and it was his exception night hehe. I have been making him stay away from meat for a month so this particular night was a treat for his tummy :)
So for you food hunters like me, do check them out. Apparently the restaurant's been there over 7 years but I only got to know of it since last year. Must read food blogs more often lah like this.
Happy bday again Sayang, I love you always ♥
Vegetarians should really stay away from this place or else they'll end up going all frantic and crazy mad :D
