KOC was FANTASTIC!

Nothing beats listening to them live.

Well, Kings have always sounded great but last Sunday, I was in (real life) awe of them. And their opening act, Tenderfist was remarkable too. It was my first time listening to them and because of their enjoyable silky smooth experimental music, the crowd seemed to allow them to take some of Kings' time a lil bit. Everyone was taking pleasure in Tenderfist. Even Eirik and Erlend (the duo from Kings) enjoyed them. In fact, just at the time when Kings were about to end their show, they invited Tenderfist to do an in promptu performance with them for a bit.

Guess what? Mind blowing!

I was ecstatic listening to Kings performing to Misread, Know How and I'd Rather Dance With You. One thing I like most about their music is that their lyrics and song composition are simple (accoustic + piano/keyboards mostly) but multi-dimensional. Even silence is made part of their song (quote unquote haha) Hudaa was my date that night and we were both dancing choreographlessly to the music - just like the way Erlend was. He was hilarious!

Anyhoos I'm sure those who went had an amazing time! Tipu kalau tak! :)

On Monday night I experienced two new things. One was to go to a concert with the most random person I have ever thought of. And two was to watch orchestra at Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra at KLCC.

The random person is actually a friend and the name is Sheikh. How we became friends? Let's just say he's a friend to my xyzfriend. Geddit? No? Nevermind. No need to understand. Simply to say, Sheikh is a wonderful friend.

The orchestra? Pink Martini. Yes, that's right, Pink Martini that came all the way from Portland, Oregon.

In case you have no idea about this, I am a hugeee fan of multilingual particularly French music (and all the musings) mixed up with bossa nova elements which adds a little twist of samba in it. And no need to guess there (if you've heard of them) that they perfectly suit to that quality. Ever since I've heard Sympathique, I began youtubing to each songs they have. If you have the time, try listening to them. I doubt it that you will just sit there and stare at the screen. I assure you that you'll want to Salsa to it!

After a solid one hour and a half of intense and magical performance (to wit Sheikh and I was dancing to the last song!) the concert ended. Rasa nak nangis dah habis. But guess what, they had an autograph session soon after. Yay big time!

So we took autographs and complimented them for their overwhelming and breathtaking show, and the both of us repeatedly request them to come back again next year.

Alas, Sheikh and I went our separate ways to go home because the next day was an effin working day. What a bummer innit! Sheikh siap plan nak amik EL nak gi hotel amik gambar during breakfast. Haha. But of course he didn't do that lah. What a funny chap he is.

The band. Thomas Lauderdale is by far the most adorable pianist you can ever imagine.

This is Thomas. He tried to translate the description of almost all of the songs in Malay before the multi talented China Forbes (vocals) sang. Cute kan dia?

Thanks Say for paying a portion of the tix and Allah for giving me the chance to watch this to die for concert :))) I am beyond overwhelmed!
