I have SO many things to share! Yikes! :-S
First off, I'd like to give my warmest welcome to the month of March! *waves at March* I'm extremely pleased to meet you regardless of the workload I have right before me, but I know at the end of the month, I know you'll be my mr. fantastic as you'll give me my (two months) pay (in a row!) *yesness please!* I will work hard for you. Hoho.
Okay a month has passed by and as I have promised to whoever who took notice of my earlier post that I'll give my two cents worth regarding (permissible information) my job, I am eager to share it with you now. So listen hard and listen carefully (although 'listen' would equate to 'read' hehe)
As I have mentioned, I'm in the Research division. It's newly established just mid last month with limited number of people (as of today) working under strict orders directly from the super super superior-est (should you wish to know more, please go to http://www.agc.gov.my/).
As the least experienced and most junior in the division, I work under the multi-talented mega brilliant seniors who come from different fields of (legal) life to research on matters pertaining to.. anything! One might have the assumption that being in the RD would only mean to do plain research on a specific area and no pro-active physical movements like the prosecutors for example but guess what? You're absolutely wrong.
Not only that we do basic research (of which 'basic research' means, to simplify, whatever in the daily newspapers that requires further input) but also all other divisions' work. Meaning to say, we also do whatever advisory does which include constitutional law or syariah for that matter, civil division's civil procedures for example, prosecution's papers and in depth research, be part of working groups of international division in extradition matters for instance.. it's basically anything in the chambers. My head of division (ie. my boss) once said, "we work as a department, not as a division.." which means, we work for the whole chambers, not just the division. Hence, whatever we do, we do it for the benefit of the chambers as a whole.
Berat kan dengar? Haha. Yes, it is quite a heavy responsibility and commitment to shoulder, but for what it's worth, I'm enjoying it, still. Although it can be time consuming and energy zapping at times, I am glad to be posted here. Everyday is like a new lesson. A new thing to learn, an unfamiliar info to be familiarized with. I guess my addiction to Google.com is a blessing in disguise, kan Shanee kan? Hehehe.
To my juniors who intend to join the service, have a yearn to learn and able to multitask as well as versatility is the crux of your personality, this is where you should be :)
I can go on typing you know but I think enough la haa? Hehe. Chalohey.
* Oh Happy birthday Uncle Pin! Much love from your grown up za za gabor hehe!
