Confinement Period.

Confinement period for me was alright. Well, at least, I believe so.

I had this lady named Kak Siti, a recommendation from my friend/relative Aimi whose sister in law had her during her confinement days. She charges RM70 per day plus RM200 plus (one off) for all the confinement necessities which include bengkung, pil jamu, tonik herba, pilis, minyak panas. The massages take about 2 hours - urut satu badan + tungku + bengkung + pilis. She's such a friendly and bubbly person so you wouldn't get bored lah. Alhamdulillah her massages aren't the ones yang sakit jerit jerit tu. What's important is that she gets all the angins out. Hehe.

But what surprises me is that my mom was a sergeant of confinement! She was strict to the core. I wasn't able to step foot out of the house at all except for hospital check ups. She cooked for me almost everyday, on certain days my darling husband cooked for me and occasionally, my mother in law too. I didn't mind the food, urut, kain batik, pilis, bengkung all. What I couldn't stand was having to wear socks ALL the time and that I couldn't shampoo my hair like always. I usually shampoo my hair on alternate days but during confinement, I was allowed to shampoo only twice a week! Eeeek. With all the oil etc RIMAS gilaaa!

1st couple of weeks were fine.

Then came the 4th week onwards. I was counting days like counting sheep to sleep. Bila laa nak habis ni? I can't hardly wait to step out and go to shopping malls. Curve, OU, Pavilion, Empire so many more were running through my mind -- it drove me nuts just to wait for the confinement to be over so I could go out. Haha. I stayed indoors exactly 33 days! On 34th day (I think) I tagged my husband to OU to get his new glasses done and boy oh boy I was like a jakun! I actually laughed at myself. Lol. Believe me, it's not that easy to go through confinement so getting a hall pass from my mom was like getting a new bag or something. Itu pun my mom gave allowance cause I've passed 30 days of confinement dah. Macam exam kan? Hehe. Of course we took Khaisah with us too :) So OU was her first shopping mall she's been to (and many more will follow suit *wink*)

Towards the end I was anxious of that 'sengkak rahim' urut. Everyone said it was painful surely I got scared too! But when I asked Kak Siti she said it won't hurt if my rahim has recovered well and looking at my condition, she said, mine shouldn't hurt. And when the time came, it didn't hurt! But I felt it! It felt like there's a bump inside so when she strokes, as in pushing it upwards, you feel as if you're driving on a bump! Hehe. Thank god it didn't hurt.

All in all I lost about 10-11 kgs post labour/pregnancy. I still have almost half of the kilos in me (which I don't intend to lose). I don't want to be as thin as before so right now, my current weight is the ideal weight for me. I hope it stays that way for as long as possible.

For those who'd like to have Kak Siti for as your masseuse during confinement, her hand phone number is 0132465444 :)
